St Paul's Catholic College Providing Education For The Diocese Of Westminster
Year 7 Mass and Retreats
Over the last month the Year 7s have participated in their annual retreat, the theme of which has been Faith and Friendship, involving students in workshops led by Mrs Walker, participating in games and listening to guest speakers.
On Friday 13th October, Fr Michael Tuck celebrated Mass for all the tutor groups and we were delighted to see many parishioners and parents joining us in our celebration. Sr Liza, the Parish Sister, spoke eloquently about the theme of the retreats and asked many questions. She put to the students the concept that it is in fact Jesus we see in the eyes of our true friends, that it is through Jesus that we are loved and listened to. Our friends are crucial in our life and our friends are to be cherished and supported. During the retreats each tutor group created canvas boards highlighting the qualities that each group need to make their group a warm and happy place to be which were presented at the Mass.
We would like to extend our thanks to Fr Michael and Sr Liza for celebrating such a prayerful Mass and also to the Choir, Ms Harper and all tutors and students who actively participated in the retreat programme and Mass.
Quote from Pope Francis to young people:
“The fact is, God loves us even more than we love ourselves. He believes in us even more than we believe in ourselves. He is always cheering us on; he is our biggest fan.” (World Youth Day 2016)
