St Paul's Feast Day Mass
We were delighted to come together as one community to celebrate the Feast of St Paul, in a whole school mass outside on the lawn in July. The theme of this year’s celebrations was that of ‘Journey’ and centred around the journey of St Paul himself, from persecutor to hero of faith, as well as our own individual journeys of growth this year. We also wanted to remember the plight of millions of refugees who have had to journey for days to safety and reflect on the key Pauline teachings of journeying through life with Faith, Hope and Love. It was a wonderful service led by Fr Philip, Fr Christian and Fr Stephan, and involved many of our staff and students offering readings, reflections and prayers with our choirs leading us in song. We thank former pupils of St Paul’s who returned to participate in the choir so beautifully and the creative writing club for creating thought-provoking, first person accounts of the experience of Ukrainian refugees.
At the end of the ceremony, we were delighted to present a cheque to this year’s chosen charity, The British Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal, for our fundraising efforts over the Lenten period. In total we raised the phenomenal amount of £28,359.07! We are so appreciative of everyone’s efforts in raising this amount of money. A huge vote of thanks to everyone involved in the Mass, to `Wrap and Tie Floral' for the beautiful flowers, and to all those working behind the scenes, for the making the day such a successful event.
