Year 12 Business Apprenticeship Challenge
Earlier this week, ten of our Business Studies students attended the inaugural Year 12 Business Apprenticeship Challenge at St Peter’s Catholic School, Guildford. Two teams from St Paul’s were invited to take part in this exciting event along with groups from other local secondary schools.
Based on the hit BBC show with Alan Sugar ‘The Apprentice’ the players were set the challenge to create a cosmetics product to pitch to four successful entrepreneurs from the world of enterprise, to gain investment into their venture. Within half an hour, St Paul’s groups formed two new cosmetic brands – Remedy and Callista.
Once the teams had decided on a product, they had to create a Marketing Plan, which included their target audience and market positioning, as well as creating a Financial Plan and cash-flow forecast.
Each team had 5-minutes to pitch their idea and showcase their 30-second TikTok advert; followed by a grueling Q&A session.
Remedy excelled and took second place (9-teams in total), narrowly missing the top prize by one-point behind the eventual winners from Salesian School. Remedy beat two squads from St Peter’s, three from St John the Baptiste and one other from St Paul’s. We could not have been more proud of St Paul’s at this inaugural Business Apprentice Challenge event! #businessstudies #apprentice #apprenticechallenge #TheApprentice #businessalevel #entrepreneur
