Lenten Fundraising

Raising funds for Sarcoma UK

Over the Lenten period, St Paul’s Catholic College community comes together to give alms by fundraising for charity. This year we have been raising funds for a small charity that is very dear to our hearts - Sarcoma UK, in memory of former student, Oliver, who was a Year 11 pupil at St Paul’s last academic year.

We have been fundraising through two main activities, one of which was the Sponsored Walk which took place on Friday 21st March. The walk was a great success with many staff and students wearing fancy dress and we were also joined by Oliver's family and close friends. The event was made even better with the sun making an appearance. In the run up to the Easter holidays, we have been fundraising in earnest by holding various activities and events during break, lunch and after school. We have had tuck shops, cake sales, movie time sessions, basketball tournaments, a staff charity football match and much more. The Sixth Form have also held darts competitions and an 'Egg the Student' fundraiser (a particularly popular activity with the students.)

In view of the significance of this charity to St Paul’s, we set an ambitious target of £15,000 which we have now exceeded! We are very grateful to a number of business partners who have agreed to fund match some pupils’ individual donations in memory of our former student. We are also extremely grateful to you, our school community, for supporting us in our fundraising. The school and charity are so appreciative.

Please remember that if you have yet to pay in your sponsorship money, please do so via Wisepay as soon as possible
