Lenten Fundraising

Raising funds for the Cardinal Hume Centre

In keeping with our Mission Statement, celebrating the Catholic Traditions of Lent, St Paul’s Catholic College community unites in the spirit of almsgiving, raising funds to support those most in need. This year, our student committee has chosen to support the Cardinal Hume Centre. This charity offers homeless young people aged 16-24 a safe place to live and helps families facing homelessness.

We have been fundraising through two main activities, one of which was the sponsored walk which took place on Friday 20th March . It was a wonderful day, with many staff and students wearing fancy dress, and we were even blessed with the sun making an appearance! We were joined in the afternoon by two representatives from the charity, Stephen and Alison, who spoke to our students about the charity and its work, and offered their support and encouragement.

In the run up to the Easter holidays, we have also been fundraising by holding various activities and events during break, lunch and after school. We have enjoyed tuck shops, cake sales, “splat the rat” games, Sixth Form–run darts competitions, and plenty more besides.

We are extremely grateful to you, our school community, for supporting us in our fundraising. The school and charity are so appreciative. Please remember that if you have yet to pay in your sponsorship money, please do so via Wisepay as soon as possible.

Thank you so much for your support.
